• *Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our Information and Investigation group for Disney Web-based features (DSS), a section under the Disney Diversion and ESPN Innovation (DE&ET). As a Lead Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing scalable data architectures, data warehouses, and data pipelines to support our business needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our data solutions meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

• *Key Responsibilities**

• Design and develop scalable data architectures, data warehouses, and data pipelines to support our business needs
• Plan and implement data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in Large Data conditions (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)
• Collaborate with Data Product Managers, Data Modelers, and Data Architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance
• Ensure high operational productivity and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support our clients (Data Science, Data Analysis groups)
• Participate in Agile/Scrum practices to ensure team health and cycle improvements

• *Essential Qualifications**

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related field
• Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
• Experience with distributed systems like Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java/Scala
• Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Large Query)
• Strong experience in data integration toolsets (i.e. Wind current) and writing and maintaining data pipelines
• Strong knowledge of data modeling strategies and data warehousing standard practices and procedures
• Familiarity with Scrum and Agile approaches

• *Preferred Qualifications**

• Experience with cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)
• Strong experience in data governance and data quality
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI
• Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes
