Entry Level Structural Engineer

GFT is a privately held AEC firm that innovates where transportation, water, power, and buildings converge. They are seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to support the design and analysis of structural systems across a wide range of building types and markets, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and receiving mentorship from experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and calculations under the guidance from senior engineers
• Assist in the development of construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD
• Participate in coordination with internal and external project teams
• Support field investigations, site visits, and structural assessments
• Review shop drawings and structural submittals and assist with RFI responses during the construction phase
• Continue professional development through mentorship, training, and industry engagement

Skills

• Bachelor's or master's degree from an ABET-accredited Civil or Architectural Engineering program, with a preferred focus in Structural Engineering
• 0–3 years of experience in structural engineering
• Demonstrated interest in structural engineering through internships, past work experiences, or applied academic projects
• Basic understanding of CADD and willingness to learn Revit
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team settings
• Self-motivated, organized, and driven to learn and grow
• Capable of field inspection activities such as climbing ladders, hiking, and lifting up to 25 pounds
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or ability to obtain within six months of hire
• Working knowledge of design software including Revit, RAM Steel, STADD, RISA, and AutoCAD
• Coursework in structural analysis, concrete design, and steel design
