Engineer - Stores & Supply Chain

Target is a leading retailer focused on helping families discover the joy of everyday life. The Engineer, Stores & Supply Chain builds applications and technology to support Target's extensive retail and fulfillment network, ensuring product availability and optimizing operations through advanced data and predictive analytics.

Responsibilities

• Build the applications and technology that power Target’s extensive retail and fulfillment network
• Ensure products are available where and when guests need them
• Develop keen insight into the technical architecture and design to deliver robust and scalable software components
• Solve engineering problems and maintain software quality and functional accuracy across the team
• Review code to ensure software quality is maintained
• Participate in ceremonies that can influence product design and architecture

Skills

• 4 year degree or equivalent experience
• 1+ years of software development experience with at least one full cycle implementation
• Demonstrates familiarity with current and emerging technologies in own scope of responsibility, and develops ability to apply these technologies
• Understands concepts of package solutions and package specific programming language with knowledge of development objects
• Demonstrates and continuously builds upon domain-specific knowledge
• Demonstrates proficiency in at least one computer language
• Understands the concepts of distributed programming and applies it to their domain
• Knowledge of the different data structures in your chosen programming language and how to apply them
• Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise
• Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
