They are seeking an Electrical Designer to work on exciting projects in lighting and traffic signal design while providing clients with a superior customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the technical expertise on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects including: Design of traffic signals and illumination
- Prepare lighting and traffic signal layouts
- Prepare wiring diagrams and electrical details
- Photometric analysis of lighting systems
- Design of low voltage electrical distribution design for subdivisions
- Voltage drop calculations
- Prepare contract documents and specifications
- Site visits and contract administration
- Coordinate a variety of multi-disciplinary projects for both public and private sector clients
- Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request
- Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development
- Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring
- Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
Skills
- A degree in electrical engineering
- Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in Ontario, or eligible to be licensed within six months
- A minimum of 1-4 years of professional experience, preferably in the consulting industry
- Proven experience in the design of traffic signals and illumination
- Knowledge of AGi32 and other lighting calculation programs
- Knowledge of various municipal and MTO lighting and traffic signal design standards
- Knowledge of MTO Contract Preparation System (CPS)
- Knowledge of ANSI/IES, Transportation Association of Canada standards and Ontario Electrical Safety Code as they relate to lighting and traffic signals
- Strong abilities in project management/coordination
- Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essential
- IMSA Certifications in Traffic Signal Level I and Level II Design, Roadway Lighting Technician Level I and Level II are considered an asset
