Location: Remote (U.S.) | Travel: ~5% |
Pay: $65–$70/hr+ DOE
Full-Time
We are seeking a Licensed Electrical Engineer (PE) with strong experience in MEP design environments, particularly within healthcare, hospital renovations, commercial, municipal, or mission-critical facilities. This role is ideal for an engineer who can work independently in a design-driven consulting environment, reviewing existing conditions, interpreting legacy design intent, and developing practical engineering solutions for active construction and renovation projects.
- What You’ll Do
- Serve as a key Electrical Engineering resource on hospital renovation and retrofit projects
- Review existing MEP drawings and field conditions to determine what was designed vs. what was actually built
- Respond to RFIs by investigating prior design intent and engineering compliant solutions/fixes
- Perform design review, correction, and validation of electrical systems in existing facilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary MEP teams to ensure integrated system coordination
- Support ongoing design efforts in a design center environment, maintaining continuity of engineering standards
- Provide engineering judgment when documentation is incomplete or conflicts exist in legacy systems
- Participate in project kickoff discussions and help define electrical scope and constraints
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, healthcare standards, and facility requirements
- What We’re Looking For
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (Electrical Engineering) required
- Strong background in MEP design environments
- Experience in hospital, healthcare, commercial, municipal, or similar building systems
- Ability to interpret as-built conditions vs. original design intent
- Experience with RFIs, design clarifications, and engineering problem-solving in active projects
- Comfortable working in a remote, collaborative consulting environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical solutions clearly to project teams
- Experience working in or supporting a design center / consulting engineering workflow
Ideal Candidate
The right person for this role is not just a designer, but an engineering problem solver—someone who can step into incomplete or evolving designs, analyze legacy documentation, and confidently develop engineering solutions that keep complex hospital renovation projects moving forward.
If you are a licensed Electrical PE who thrives in real-world engineering problem solving within healthcare and renovation environments, we want to hear from you.
