Next Phase Solutions and Services, Inc. is seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer to support a federal healthcare analytics program. This role involves supporting and monitoring CI/CD pipelines, troubleshooting deployment issues, and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure while collaborating with developers and the operations team.
Responsibilities
- Support and monitor CI/CD pipelines, ensuring successful builds and deployments
- Troubleshoot pipeline and deployment issues with guidance from senior engineers
- Assist with provisioning and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, IAM, etc.)
- Work with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or CloudFormation) to support environment setup
- Support containerization applications using Docker and/or Kubernetes
- Monitor system performance using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana
- Collaborate with developers and the operations team during deployments and issue resolution
Skills
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, or similar) through: internships, personal projects or early professional experience
- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.)
- Experience working in a Linux or command-line environment
- Exposure to Docker or containerization concepts
- Ability to clearly explain your technical experience and problem-solving approach
- Strong willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
- 0 -2 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or a related technical role, including hands-on experience with AWS and CI/CD pipelines through internships, structured training programs, or professional environments
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- U.S. Citizenship required (Public Trust eligibility)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload based on the needs of the client
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and frequent changes in priorities
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent technical writing skills and proven experience in systems with complex requirements
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with others to meet project objectives
- Understanding of the system development lifecycle as implemented with Agile; SAFe knowledge a plus
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to navigate in an office setting unassisted
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
- Strong speaking skills, including the ability to articulate thoughts in a clear manner and excellent word enunciation skills, are required
- Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code
- Exposure to Kubernetes (EKS or similar)
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Scripting experience (Python, Bash)
- AWS Certification (Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect Associate)
