Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Tax at TransformCo is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing Real Estate tax strategy, compliance, and reporting. This position requires a combination of Real Estate tax expertise, leadership skills, strategic thinking, and collaboration to provide tax guidance that supports TransformCo's financial goals and compliance with tax regulations.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develops and executes tax strategies that align with TransformCo's financial goals, minimize tax liabilities, and optimize financial performance
• Analyzes changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to proactively identify opportunities and risks
• Ensures accurate and timely completion of all tax filings, including federal, state, and local tax returns, and other required tax related documentation
• Oversees the preparation and submission of tax payments, estimates, and provisions
• Leads, mentors, and develops a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning
• Provides guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to team members
• Ensures compliance with all applicable tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements
• Implements internal controls and processes to mitigate tax-related risks and ensure accurate financial reporting
• Conducts in-depth tax research and analysis on complex tax issues, including mergers and acquisitions, transfer pricing, and international tax matters
• Provides recommendations and solutions that align with TransformCo's business goals
• Collaborates closely with finance, legal, and other cross-functional teams to provide tax-related guidance and support on business initiatives and transactions
• Performs supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing associatesEmployment Category

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field
• Proven experience in a senior tax leadership role, including experience managing complex tax matters in a corporate environment
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex tax issues and provide strategic solutions
• Effective communication skills to convey complex tax matters to non-technical stakeholders
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance in tax reporting and documentation
• Proficiency in tax technology tools, financial systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong project management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines
