Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist / Senior Data Scientist to join our Customer Analytics team within the Business Planning and Analysis department. Key Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist / Senior Data Scientist in our Customer Analytics team, you will be responsible for driving data-driven projects from conception to completion. Your primary duties will include:

• Lead and execute end-to-end data analytics projects that deliver actionable insights for customer-centric business initiatives.


• Apply advanced statistical and analytical techniques to answer complex business questions and drive strategic decision-making.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, integrate, and analyze data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and consistency.


• Perform exploratory data analysis, hypothesis testing, statistical inference, and predictive/prescriptive modeling to uncover trends and opportunities.


• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate challenging business problems into sophisticated data science solutions.


• Work with various teams across the organization to integrate and unify customer data for comprehensive analytics, including third-party data, digital behavior, operational metrics, and more.


• Develop and deploy machine learning models as proofs of concept or fully productionized implementations.


• Contribute to the development and evaluation of customer-centric metrics that incorporate customer attributes and behaviors holistically.


• Collaborate cross-functionally to translate customer insights into better business decisions and strategic initiatives.


• Select appropriate analytical tools and write code/queries to generate outputs that support strategic planning and direction.


• Present updates and findings to key stakeholders, including senior leadership, regarding customer analytics evaluations and business impact.


• Identify and evaluate opportunities to leverage new technologies and collaborate with external vendors to enhance customer understanding.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess the following minimum qualifications:

• Education: Master's/PhD degree or Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of equivalent practical experience in a quantitative discipline such as Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.


• Technical Expertise: Strong experience with machine learning, data science, and AI-driven techniques.


• Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, R, or Java.


• Data Handling: Practical experience with data extraction, cleaning, and analysis of both structured and unstructured data.


• Analytical Tools: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation.


• Business Acumen: Ability to analyze complex business problems and translate them into data-driven solutions.


• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.


• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following additional qualifications will be preferred:

• Experience with SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau.


• Industry experience in transportation, aviation, or related sectors.


• Experience with cloud computing and/or distributed processing platforms (e.g., Databricks, Spark, AWS).


• Experience with Microsoft Azure (storage accounts, service principal, Azure Data Factory, and Active Directory).


• Background in quantitative marketing, including correlation analysis, clustering, segmentation, and regression techniques.


• Proficiency with machine learning algorithms such as XGboost, KNN Neighbors, and Random Forest.
