BlackRock is one of the world’s preeminent asset management firms, and they are seeking a Sales Development Representative to join their New York-based Sales Development team. This role focuses on identifying and engaging target prospects, qualifying leads, and setting meetings for Sales partners.
Responsibilities
- Execute consultative outbound prospecting across email, phone, and social channels to engage priority accounts and personas
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads through discovery conversations; assess fit, urgency, stakeholders, and next steps
- Schedule qualified meetings and provide clear handoff notes (objective, stakeholder context, key findings, and hypotheses)
- Maintain excellent CRM hygiene: accurate activity logging, contact/account updates, and lead dispositioning
- Partner with Account Executives and Marketing to align on target lists, messaging, and campaign follow-up
- Track performance against SDR KPIs and contribute to weekly pipeline and activity reporting
Skills
- 1–3 years of experience in sales development, business development, client-facing, or related roles
- Familiarity or strong interest in alternative investments, financial services, data/analytics solutions, or SaaS environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work in a goal- and metrics-driven environment
- Strong organization and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new systems quickly
- Experience cold calling, prospecting into enterprise accounts, and navigating multi-stakeholder buying groups
- Experience with CRM and sales engagement tools (e.g., Salesforce, Outreach, etc)
- A desire to be a phenomenal teammate, able to integrate and build rapport quickly
