What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Data Center Technician at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our data center infrastructure. Your daily responsibilities will span hardware deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization. Here's a detailed breakdown of what you can expect:
- Hardware Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and deploy servers, storage devices, networking equipment, and related components in our state-of-the-art data centers. This includes rack mounting, cabling, and ensuring proper connectivity across all systems.
- System Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough testing of new server hardware components and designs to identify any issues before full deployment. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware failures, performance bottlenecks, and connectivity problems efficiently and effectively.
- Linux System Administration: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux operating systems on servers. Work with our Linux clusters to ensure optimal performance and stability across our infrastructure.
- Network Operations: Configure and manage networking components including routers, hubs, bridges, switches, and networking protocols. Ensure seamless communication between servers and data center networks.
- Incident Response and Resolution: Participate in or lead troubleshooting efforts for critical or escalated technical issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve complex problems quickly to minimize downtime.
- Project Leadership: Take part in or lead small project teams focused on large-scale installations, infrastructure upgrades, or deployment initiatives. Develop project plans, contingency strategies, and documentation for future reference.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all hardware installations, configurations, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting steps. Contribute to knowledge base articles and best practices documentation.

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should have a strong foundation in hardware and system administration, along with hands-on experience in data center or similar technical environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven experience troubleshooting hardware or system-related issues using Linux-based tools and command-line interfaces.
- Hands-on experience with hardware, networking equipment, operating systems, and data center operations.
- Solid understanding of computer hardware components, including servers, motherboards, CPUs, memory, storage devices, and power supply units.
- Familiarity with data center infrastructure, including rack installation, cable management, and environmental monitoring.
- Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, subnetting, and common networking protocols.
