What You'll Do as a Customer Service Specialist
As a vital member of the arenaflex ground operations team, you will play a multifaceted role that combines customer interaction, technical operations, and problem resolution. Your responsibilities will span across various airport touchpoints, ensuring that every guest receives exceptional service regardless of the challenge they face.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver Friendly, Welcoming Service: Greet all guests with warmth and professionalism, maintaining positive relationships with both internal teams and external customers. Your positive attitude will create lasting impressions and encourage repeat business.
- Ticketing and Check-In Operations: Process ticket purchases, boarding passes, and check-in procedures using our computerized retail point-of-sale system. Handle cash, checks, credit cards, travel vouchers, and coupons with accuracy and integrity. Balance daily transactions and be accountable for cash handling accuracy.
- Baggage Services: Check in passenger baggage, process freight shipments, and manage the loading and unloading of luggage. Ensure proper handling of overweight or oversized bags while providing excellent service at the baggage drop-off and retrieval areas.
- Reservations and Information: Provide current and accurate fare information, flight schedules, reservation availability, and flight arrival/departure information. Answer general inquiries from passengers and visitors with patience and thorough knowledge of arenaflex services.
- Gate Operations: Assist with boarding procedures, manage seat assignments, and ensure efficient aircraft turnaround times. Work under tight time constraints to maintain on-time departures while providing excellent customer service.
- Problem Resolution: Handle and resolve complaints, issues, and concerns that arise during the travel experience. This includes addressing situations arising from oversales, flight delays, cancellations, lost or damaged baggage, and other service disruptions. Resolve issues quickly and within established company guidelines.
- Communication: Answer telephone inquiries, page customers, provide information to visitors, and assist as needed. Communicate effectively through phone, in-person interactions, and public address systems.
- Documentation: Complete required forms, reports, and documentation as mandated by arenaflex policies. Write incident and complaint reports as necessary to ensure proper record-keeping and continuous improvement.
Additional Duties
Responsibilities may vary based on the size and specific operations of each station. You must be flexible and willing to adapt to the unique needs of your location. Additionally, you may be asked to perform other job-related duties as directed by your supervisors, contributing to the overall success of the arenaflex team.

Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred, though relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Computer Skills: Ability to type and use a computer keyboard with sufficient speed to meet job requirements. Comfortable working with digital systems and learning new software applications.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication abilities. Must be able to communicate effectively over the phone, in person, and through public address systems.
- Technical Comprehension: Ability to understand documents, follow instructions, and learn ticketing procedures, rules, and regulations quickly and accurately.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team. Comfortable meeting the public and interacting with diverse groups of people.
- Adaptability: Ability to work effectively under stressful situations and remain calm when addressing challenging customer issues.
- Training Requirements: Must successfully complete the Customer Service Specialist training program with a score of 80% or higher and satisfy all assessment period requirements.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, which may include standing for extended periods, lifting baggage, and working in confined spaces.
- Appearance: Must maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance in accordance with arenaflex standards outlined in the Ground Operations Representative Handbook.
- Time Management: Must work effectively under close time constraints to achieve quick aircraft turnarounds while maintaining service quality.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Previous customer service experience in a hospitality, retail, or transportation setting
- Familiarity with airline reservation systems and ticketing procedures
- Multilingual capabilities (Spanish is a significant plus)
- Cash handling experience with strong mathematical skills
- Conflict resolution training or experience
