About the Role

As a Customer Engineer specializing in Security for our Public Sector division, you will work alongside our Sales team to introduce arenaflex Cloud Security offerings to government agencies and public sector customers. You will help prospective and existing customers, as well as partners, understand the power of arenaflex Cloud Security, developing creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges and overcome any potential technical roadblocks.

In this role, you will be instrumental in growing our cybersecurity business by building and expanding relationships with public sector customers. You'll serve as a trusted advisor and advocate for our security solutions, providing expert support to C-suite executives, security leaders, architects, and analysts to lead projects forward. You'll guide customers through discovering technology solutions and consult on the best approaches to secure their environments while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities


  • Business Development Support: Work closely with Security Sales and arenaflex Cloud teams to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand customer technical and compliance objections, and develop strategies to resolve technical blockers that impede successful deployments.

  • Solution Demonstration: Work across all arenaflex Cloud Security products to demonstrate and validate solution benefits in customer and partner environments, showcasing how our security capabilities address specific public sector challenges.

  • Customer Engagement: Support arenaflex Cloud Security opportunities and relationships, own the technical aspects of solutions, and deliver compelling technical presentations, product and solution briefings, proofs-of-concepts, and demonstrations to customers, partners, and stakeholders.

  • Messaging & Positioning: Prepare and deliver product messaging that highlights our solutions' value proposition using techniques including presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, trial management, and response documents tailored to public sector audiences.

  • Industry Presence: Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events to build relationships, represent arenaflex, and stay current with industry trends and emerging security threats facing the public sector.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to arenaflex Cloud products based on customer feedback and market demands.

  • Optimize for Results: Lead with empathy while identifying innovative ways to multiply your impact and the impact of the team as a whole. Ensure customers achieve their desired outcomes in production environments.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

  • 10 years of experience in security or cloud native architectures in a customer-facing technical sales or consulting role.

  • Hands-on experience in cybersecurity domains including threat detection, malware intelligence, cloud security posture management, or identity and access management systems.

  • Must be a US Citizen to access Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

Preferred Qualifications


  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a technical field.

  • Industry certifications in Cloud Security or Security architecture (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, or equivalent).

  • Proven experience implementing security solutions for enterprise organizations, specifically in government or public sector environments.

  • Deep knowledge of product and solution market trends in the cybersecurity industry, including ransomware mitigation, attack frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK), zero trust architecture, and emerging threat landscapes.

  • Demonstrated ability to speak publicly and deliver technical presentations to diverse audiences, including executive leadership and technical teams.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, presentation, and active listening skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.

  • Experience working with government agencies, understanding of FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST frameworks, and other regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional presentation and demo skills, capable of conveying complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify technical blockers and develop creative solutions.

  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Product Management.

  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and requirements.

Compensation & Benefits

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$213,000 plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
