The Credit Review Specialist role focuses on performing comprehensive credit analysis to support sound lending decisions by evaluating financial data and maintaining high credit quality across accounts.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed credit analyses by gathering, reviewing, and interpreting financial and credit information, including credit reports, industry research, tax returns, and related documentation
- Input and maintain accurate credit data within tracking, reporting, and database systems
- Prepare clear, well-documented credit analyses and reports for stakeholders responsible for new loan approvals, renewals, and extensions
- In certain areas, independently make credit decisions within a high-volume production environment
- Monitor customer accounts and loan portfolios to identify emerging risks, credit issues, or adverse trends
- Support risk management efforts by proactively identifying potential credit exposure and minimizing loss
- Build, maintain, and utilize databases and analytical tools to support portfolio analysis and reporting
- Provide credit-related information and respond to internal or external credit inquiries as appropriate
Skills
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically one or more years of related experience
- Basic knowledge of credit and risk analysis, economics, accounting and finance
- Strong analytical skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
