Project Manager:

Primary Responsibilities, and Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:
- What skills are needed to be successful in this role?
- Familiarity with floodplain modeling approaches. Technical expertise in climate hazard data (ex. flood, extreme heat, wind, drought).
- Strong experience in contract management. Strong experience in product development and user testing for data products.
- Experience with developing agile workflows.
- Collaborative mindset to build systems and partnerships that make climate data more useful, equitable, and actionable for use by NYSERDA and other stakeholders in NYS.
- Are there any specialized skills that must be present for the position to be successful?
- Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling. Familiarity with the development of FEMA map products and floodplain management.
- GIS or other geospatial tools, data analysis, experience performing climate risk assessments.
- Experience in developing and implementing data products or platforms (including user research, prototyping, and testing), strong analytical skills, strong communication across multiple stakeholders, strategic planning.
- Coding skills in Python is a plus.
- Education, Certifications, Degree requirements
- Bachelors degree in relevant field (ex. environmental science, risk management, computer science, data science, or similar). 3-6 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated experience with climate hazard datasets is required.
- Masters degree in relevant field is a plus.
