Alera Group, Inc. is a growing firm that specializes in Employee Benefits, Property & Casualty Insurance, Retirement Plan Services, and Wealth Services. They are seeking a Client Service Associate – Retirement Plans to support client relationships and operational excellence in retirement planning and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Support plan sponsors and plan participants by responding to inquiries regarding retirement plan rules, features, and regulations
- Assist advisors with client reviews, proposals, and meeting preparation
- Prepare reports, schedules, and materials used in client and prospect meetings
- Deliver clear, professional communication that supports understanding, trust, and long‑term client relationships
- Manage account onboarding activities, including setup and ongoing maintenance of participant data
- Reconcile plan contributions to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Process asset movement transactions such as rollovers, distributions, loans, and transfers in accordance with plan rules
- Ensure retirement plans remain compliant with ERISA and applicable IRS regulations
- Assist with governmental audits and required reporting
- Maintain accurate documentation to support regulatory, client, and internal requirements
- Support service and retention efforts by delivering accurate, timely, and responsive account administration
- Identify opportunities to improve service efficiency and client experience
- Partner with advisors and internal teams to support client satisfaction and long‑term engagement
- Contribute to a client‑focused culture that supports sustainable growth
Skills
- Working knowledge of retirement plans, including 401(k) and 403(b) plans
- Understanding of ERISA requirements and applicable IRS regulations
- Experience in financial services, retirement services, or a related administrative or client service role
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Prior experience supporting retirement plan administration or recordkeeping
- Familiarity with custodian platforms and CRM systems
- Experience processing asset movements such as rollovers, distributions, loans, and transfers
- Exposure to plan compliance testing or governmental audits
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
