The California Department of Justice is seeking a Civil Rights Enforcement Section Analyst I to perform a variety of analytical and administrative duties. The role involves supporting senior staff with administrative tasks and may include basic data analysis and policy proposal responsibilities.


Responsibilities

  • Independently performs a wide variety of analytical and administrative duties
  • Responsible for basic administrative functioning of the Civil Rights Enforcement Section
  • Supporting senior staff within the Section
  • Handling of contracts, budgets, procurement, hiring and onboarding processes
  • Training compliance
  • Administrative tracking
  • File management and organization
  • Time entry
  • Case and file management
  • Working in different database systems
  • Processing documents for accessibility
  • Collecting and analyzing information and datasets
  • Proposing new policies for addressing problems
  • Factual analyses and research

Skills

  • Basic analytical, administrative, and computer skills
  • Ability to work with supervision and direction from senior staff
  • Exercise good judgment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications (including Word, OneNote, and Excel)
  • Ability to interact well with others on a team
