Civil Engineering Designer

KPFF Consulting Engineers is a multi-office, multi-discipline engineering firm committed to excellence. The Civil Engineering Designer will work on planning, designing, and refining land development and infrastructure projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and gaining hands-on experience in real-world projects.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the planning, design, permitting, and refinement of land development and infrastructure projects from concept to completion
• Gain hands-on experience while learning directly from licensed professional engineers
• Apply core engineering principles and advanced mathematical techniques to tackle real-world challenges
• Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams
• Build expertise in navigating federal, state, and local regulations, while aligning with KPFF’s and our clients’ standards and practices
• Join client meetings and site visits to gain exposure to project development and stakeholder engagement
• Participate in KPFF’s Forefront program, our commitment to mentorship, lifelong learning, and career development

Skills

• An ABET accredited bachelor's degree in civil (preferred) or environmental engineering
• 0-3 years' experience working under a licensed professional engineer
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or scheduled date for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Passionate about providing exceptional client service
• Coursework and/or familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D
• Coursework and/or familiarity with stormwater hydrology modeling
