Schedule: Full-Time | 12-hour shifts (Monday, Tuesday, Friday | 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM)
About the Role
We are seeking a patient-centered Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) who is also a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) to join our remote clinical team.
While this role includes diabetes education, it is not limited to diabetes care. You will provide comprehensive nutrition and health counseling to a diverse patient population—including individuals managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia, as well as patients focused on weight loss, GLP-1 therapy, and overall health and wellness.
This position is ideal for a clinician who enjoys practicing across the full spectrum of metabolic health, preventative care, and behavior change, and building meaningful patient relationships in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide diabetes self-management education and support (DSMES)
- Deliver medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for:
- Diabetes (Type 1, Type 2, prediabetes)
- Hypertension
- Hyperlipidemia
- Weight management and obesity
- Support patients on GLP-1 medications, including:
- Nutrition guidance
- Side effect management
- Sustainable lifestyle strategies
- Counsel patients seeking general health and wellness guidance, including those without chronic conditions
- Develop personalized, evidence-based care plans aligned with patient goals
- Use motivational interviewing and behavior change techniques to drive outcomes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams as needed
- Document patient encounters accurately within telehealth systems
Requirements
Qualifications
- Active CDCES certification (required)
- Active Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential (strongly preferred)
- Current Texas licensure
- Minimum 1+ year of experience in diabetes education and/or clinical nutrition
- Experience with weight management and/or GLP-1 therapies strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of cardiometabolic health (diabetes, hypertension, lipids, obesity)
- Excellent communication and patient engagement skills
- Comfortable delivering care via telehealth platforms
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
