Billing and Insurance Specialist (Remote)
Posted 2026-05-06The Billing & Insurance Specialist is responsible for overseeing critical revenue cycle functions in partnership with a third-party Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) company. This role serves as the primary liaison between the organization and the RCM vendor, ensuring accurate authorization management, timely resolution of patient responsibility balances, and effective collections processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in ABA or behavioral health billing workflows.
Qualifications
Required
2+ years of experience in medical billing, insurance, or revenue cycle management
Experience with ABA, behavioral health, or healthcare billing
Strong working knowledge of:
Insurance authorizations
Patient responsibility (deductibles, co-pays, coinsurance)
Collections workflows
Experience working with or overseeing a third-party billing/RCM company
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred
Experience with ABA billing codes (CPT/HCPCS) and payer-specific ABA requirements
Familiarity with common ABA payers and authorization models
Experience using EMRs and billing platforms commonly used in ABA organizations
