Associate - Workers' Compensation

Cipriani & Werner is a multidisciplinary law firm seeking a Workers’ Compensation Associate to join their team in Woodbridge, NJ. The role involves conducting legal research, drafting documents, representing clients, and managing caseloads under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and agreements
• Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and mediations
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases
• Maintain billable hours as necessary
• Manage client relationships and a caseload with supervision
• Assist in the representation of clients in motion practice, conferences, mediations, and trial when and where necessary

Skills

• 1-2 years of Workers' Compensation experience required
• Must have a JD degree from an ABA-approved law school and maintain an active license in good standing in New York
• Must be a self-motivated independent thinker with excellent time management skills, strong organizational skills, and outstanding communication skills with the ability to work as a team member in a high-volume fast paced work environment
• 2-3 years of Workers' Compensation experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management software preferred
