impact.com is the world’s leading commerce partnership marketing platform, transforming the way businesses grow through partnerships. They are seeking an Associate Data Analyst to join their Consumer & Network Insights team, where the role involves analyzing consumer and network data, building dashboards, and supporting client reporting to drive platform improvements and client growth.
Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of data analyses and narratives for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with strategic clients — translating campaign results, platform usage, and network performance into clear, actionable takeaways
- Respond to recurring and ad hoc data requests from Product, Sales, and Client Success teams; deliver timely, accurate outputs
- Communicate findings in a way that is accessible to non-technical audiences, with appropriate context and caveats
- Contribute to analyses of consumer behavioral and transactional data alongside partner network data — understanding how consumer journeys intersect with publisher, affiliate, and creator performance
- Support analysis of seasonal and commercial events — including holiday retail trends such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday — to produce descriptive and forward-looking insights for internal and external stakeholders
- Identify patterns and anomalies across consumer and network datasets; flag findings to senior team members for interpretation and action
- Contribute to company-wide benchmarking initiatives by querying, cleaning, and aggregating client data to establish platform and industry performance baselines across both consumer and network dimensions
- Help produce recurring trend reports that track the health and performance of the partner network alongside consumer engagement metrics
- Design and maintain dashboards in Looker (or similar tools) to support recurring reporting needs across the business
- Ensure all analytical assets are well-documented: metrics definitions, data sources, refresh logic, and known limitations
- Proactively flag data quality issues and work with the team to resolve them
- Maintain and optimize existing SQL and Python scripts used for automated data extraction and transformation
- Develop good habits around code quality, documentation, and version control from the start
Skills
- 0–2+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related quantitative role. Internships, research assistantships, or academic project experience count
- Proficiency in SQL — you can write and debug queries independently on real datasets
- Working knowledge of Python for data manipulation and analysis (pandas, basic scripting)
- Familiarity with a BI/visualization tool (Looker, Tableau, or similar)
- Comfort with Google Sheets or Excel for ad hoc analysis and communication
- You understand how to frame a question, pull the right data, and interpret results honestly — including knowing when something doesn't add up
- Clear written and verbal communication; you can explain what you found and why it matters to people who aren't in the data
- You follow through, ask good questions, and work well within a team. You're comfortable being a junior contributor who is actively building
- Bachelor's degree in an analytical or quantitative field (Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, CS, or similar STEM discipline), or equivalent work experience
- Exposure to consumer insights, marketing analytics, affiliate marketing, partner networks, or e-commerce data
- Familiarity with BigQuery or other cloud data warehouses
- Experience with Generative AI tools (e.g., Gemini, ChatGPT) for analytical workflows
- Any coursework or project experience in statistics, A/B testing, consumer behavior research, or network analysis
- Genuine curiosity. You don't just pull the number that was asked for — you look at what surrounds it and ask whether it makes sense
- Attention to detail. You catch things. You double-check your outputs before sharing them, and you care about the difference between approximately right and precisely right
- Clear communication. You write and speak in plain language. You don't hide behind jargon, and you know how to make data accessible to people who aren't living in it
- Eagerness to grow. You're early in your career and you know it — and that motivates you rather than intimidates you. You take feedback well and apply it
- Reliability. You do what you say you'll do, on time, and you speak up early if something is going sideways
