About the Business Operations Team
Business Operations serves as the connective tissue of arenaflex Entertainment and ESPN Technology, with an unwavering focus on bringing together all aspects of the business. Every team within the organization—engineering, product, design, operations, and support—comes together to drive the business forward with oversight, effective prioritization, and strategic guidance.
This team synthesizes information from across the business to ensure leadership is equipped with all the essential data before making strategic and financial decisions. From forecasting and funding to tracking and reporting on initiatives, from operational approaches to resource management, Business Operations has transparency and involvement in all facets of the organization. As a Tech Data Analyst I, you'll play a critical role in this ecosystem, providing the analytical foundation that informs key business decisions.
What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Tech Data Analyst I in our Technology Planning and Analysis group, you'll be responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights that guide strategic decision-making across the organization. Here's what your day-to-day will look like:
- Data Integration and Modeling: Organize multiple data sources to build multivariate frameworks that support analysis and drive decisions for the organization at-large. You'll create robust data structures that enable comprehensive analysis across various business dimensions.
- Dashboard and Tool Development: Create and deploy tools and dashboards for end users that power data-driven decisions. You'll ensure these analytical resources are intuitive, accurate, and valuable for stakeholders across the company.
- Automation and Optimization: Build strategic decision-making frameworks and write scripts that help automate and scale our analytical capabilities. You'll identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology and process improvements.
- Goal Setting and Metrics: Work with partners to establish and identify objectives; define measurable targets, key results, and relevant metrics for the business; then ensure we track and report on them consistently.
- Technology Roadmap Stewardship: Be a diligent steward of our technology roadmap and communicate status and plans to partners as appropriate. You'll provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Organizational Goal Achievement: Effectively accomplish organizational objectives, driving through challenges, handling multiple priorities, and ensuring alignment with partner teams.
Required Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you'll need a combination of educational background, technical expertise, and personal attributes:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of informatics, data analysis, and management consulting—specifically in a quantitative or data-heavy role. You'll need hands-on experience working with data and data manipulation software including R, SQL, and Python.
- Visualization Skills: Experience building dashboards using tools like Tableau and Looker, with agility in writing database queries and scripts to extract and analyze data.
- Technology Understanding: Demonstrated understanding of different types of existing and emerging technologies and their ecosystems. You should have a highly developed understanding of how to collaborate with different teams to launch new products.

Compensation and Benefits
We recognize that talented professionals deserve competitive compensation. The hiring range for this position in California is $77,300 to $103,600 annually, and in New York is $81,000 to $108,500 annually, based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation offered will consider internal equity and may vary depending on the applicant's geographic location, work-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
