Position Overview
Are you looking for a rewarding career where you can make a real difference in people's lives while working in a dynamic, supportive environment? arenaflex is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Customer Service & Pharmacy Data Entry Specialist to join our remote call center team. This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation, comprehensive training, and the opportunity to grow within one of the most respected names in healthcare.
In this role, you will be responsible for processing patient enrollment, handling high-volume customer requests, and ensuring accurate data entry in compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies. You will work directly under experienced supervisors, collaborate with pharmacy professionals across multiple locations, and develop expertise in pharmacy systems and patient care. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, possess strong communication skills, and have a genuine passion for helping others.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Enrollment & Data Processing: Accurately enter new patient information into our pharmacy systems following state and government guidelines. Process new patient enrollment with meticulous attention to detail to ensure seamless registration and service delivery.
- Prescription Data Entry: Utilize arenaflex's prescription data entry procedures and guidelines to process new patient enrollments. Enter prescription information into appropriate systems while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
- Medication Request Handling: Process patient medication requests within strict HIPAA guidelines. Handle refill orders efficiently, ensuring timely processing for patients who depend on their medications.
- Research & Exception Resolution: Investigate and retrieve missing prescription information. Decode clinical abbreviations and SIG codes to ensure accurate medication documentation. Resolve all data entry-related exceptions promptly and professionally.
- Patient Communication: Handle correspondence with patients through inbound calls, emails, and in-person visits. Make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed to resolve issues, clarify information, or provide updates on prescription status.
- Third-Party Resolution: Resolve third-party rejects by assessing situations, gathering necessary information, recreating prescriptions, and resubmitting them according to individual plan requirements. Make phone calls to insurance providers and other parties to obtain information, gain override approvals, or otherwise resolve rejected claims.
- Pharmacy Support: Provide assistance to Pharmacists both in your assigned location and across different arenaflex facilities. Identify issues and communicate them appropriately to senior-level staff when necessary.
- Compliance & Licensing: Obtain an active technician license or certification within the first 90 days of employment and maintain an active license or certification throughout your tenure with arenaflex.
Essential Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Computer Skills: Basic proficiency with computer operations, including startup/shutdown procedures, mouse navigation, program management, file saving, printing, and online information retrieval.
- Web Navigation: Ability to effectively use web browsers, including opening applications, correctly entering URLs, utilizing search engines, bookmarking sites, navigating with back/forward/stop buttons, and completing online forms.
- Keyboard Skills: Intermediate-level keyboarding abilities with a minimum speed of 25 WPM, including typing from memory and organizing documents.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
- Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment.
- One and a half years of pharmacy technician experience with certification/registration granted by the State Board of Pharmacies or a nationally recognized certifying body.
- Demonstrated experience providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients, including meeting quality service standards and assessing customer satisfaction.
- Advanced keyboarding skills with a minimum speed of 35 WPM, including typing from memory and efficiently organizing documents.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (verbal and written).
