Now Hiring: Professional Genealogists & Investigative Skip Tracers (Remote Contract) 13th Floor Investigations, LLC | West Palm Beach, FL 13th Floor Investigations, LLC is expanding our investigative research team and is seeking professional genealogists and advanced skip tracing investigators to support complex locate, heir research, and investigative projects. We are particularly interested in connecting with genealogists worldwide, including specialists in forensic genealogy, DNA analysis, probate/heirship research, and quiet title investigations. All roles are remote, asynchronous contract positions with project-based work. Open Positions 1️⃣ Professional Genealogist / FIGG Investigator Certification in genealogy (CG, AG, FIGG) or a specialized genealogy-based discipline such as forensic genealogy, DNA analysis, probate/heirship research, or quiet title investigations is highly valued. Responsibilities • Conduct deep genealogical research using historical records, archives, and databases • Build and verify complex family trees and lineage connections • Locate heirs and living relatives through genealogical methods • Utilize DNA databases or genetic genealogy tools when applicable • Produce clear investigative reports documenting research findings Preferred Background • Certified or accredited genealogists • FIGG (Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy) experience • Experience with probate, heirship, or quiet title cases • Familiarity with international record systems We welcome international genealogists with access to regional archives and records. 2️⃣ Skip Tracer (Standard Locate & Update Role) We currently have two open skip tracing positions focused on locating individuals and verifying current contact information. Responsibilities • Conduct skip tracing using investigative databases and research platforms • Verify phone numbers, addresses, and associated individuals • Perform locate updates for lead lists and investigative cases • Document findings and maintain accurate records 3️⃣ Skip Tracer Investigator (Advanced Research Role) This role goes beyond standard locate work and requires advanced investigative research skills. Responsibilities • Conduct OSINT investigations • Perform deep web and surface web research • Analyze digital footprints and online intelligence • Identify hidden or difficult-to-locate individuals • Compile detailed investigative reports Qualifications • Strong proficiency with skip tracing tools, investigative databases, and OSINT research • Experience with genealogy platforms and historical records • Excellent analytical and investigative thinking skills • Ability to evaluate and verify information from multiple sources • Strong written communication for report writing • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment • Understanding of data privacy and handling sensitive information Backgrounds in genealogy, investigations, criminal justice, intelligence analysis, or research are highly valued.
