About the Platform Engineering Team
The Platform Engineering team at arenaflex is responsible for the core technologies that underpin our bleeding-edge e-commerce platform and exceptional customer experience. From order processing and logistics optimization to artificial intelligence and machine learning, our team builds the foundation that powers every interaction our customers have with arenaflex.
We're currently undergoing an exciting transformation toward cloud-native architecture and microservices adoption. Our goal is to create a more self-service and autonomous cloud environment that accelerates developer velocity through best practices guidance, provides clear pathways for easier onboarding, and reduces operational burden for service ownership and management activities.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Product Manager for Platform Engineering, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of arenaflex's technical infrastructure. Here's what your day-to-day will look like:
- Own product strategy, development, and roadmaps that support the Platform Engineering group within the broader Tech Transformation objectives, ensuring alignment with company-wide goals and initiatives.
- Partner with business stakeholders across multiple divisions including Retail Frontend, ManTech, Global Supplier Tech, Pricing Tech, and partner groups in Infrastructure, Platforms, and AI to understand their businesses and co-develop effective solutions that drive strategic business value.
- Utilize agile methodologies to collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute the product roadmap efficiently and effectively, maintaining momentum and delivering measurable results.
- Communicate and champion the product vision throughout arenaflex, including senior partners and Technology leaders, ensuring everyone understands the "why" behind our initiatives.
- Develop and monitor OKRs for key product initiatives, ensuring alignment with stakeholder objectives and demonstrating clear ROI on investments.
- Work with management to improve product craft and processes throughout your workgroup, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Drive cloud-native transformation by working closely with engineering teams to implement best practices for microservices architecture, containerization, and infrastructure automation.
- Balance technical excellence with business value, making strategic decisions about where to invest resources for maximum impact.
What You'll Need
We're looking for someone who brings a unique blend of technical depth, business acumen, and interpersonal skills. Here's what we're hoping you'll bring to the table:
- Proven experience building software products or infrastructure at scale with measurable impact, preferably across different platforms or work streams. You should have a track record of delivering results that move the needle.
- Experience taking infrastructure from concept to launch and beyond—you understand the full product lifecycle and know how to navigate challenges at each stage.
- Technical education or background that enables you to participate in making key decisions and communicate effectively with technical partners like Engineering. You don't need to be a coder, but you need to speak the language.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills at the senior partner level. You can translate complex technical concepts into business value and influence decision-makers across the organization.
- Positive, people-oriented, and collaborative attitude. You thrive in team environments and know how to build trust with colleagues at all levels.
- A problem-solving mindset that pushes through challenges with clever solutions and persistence, while maintaining grace under pressure. Things will get tough—you need to stay calm and focused.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where requirements are constantly evolving.
- Customer-focused mentality with a genuine desire to understand and solve real problems for end users.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, these qualifications would make you an even stronger candidate:
- Proficiency in cloud-native technology adoption in large-scale organizations (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Experience with GCP is a plus but not required.
- Four-year degree in Engineering or equivalent training or experience in a technical capacity (Data Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, etc.).
- MBA or graduate degree in management—a nice-to-have that demonstrates strategic thinking capabilities.
- Experience with AI/ML platforms and understanding of how to build products that leverage machine learning capabilities.
- Background in e-commerce or marketplace platforms—understanding the unique challenges and opportunities in online retail.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code.
