Key Responsibilities
As a Financial Investigator at arenaflex, you will be responsible for leading transformative initiatives that enhance finance processes and strengthen internal controls across multiple business units. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying risks, recommending mitigation strategies, and ensuring that our financial operations maintain the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
- Lead Special Projects: Drive finance enhancement and integration initiatives across diverse teams, working collaboratively to implement process improvements that deliver measurable value to the organization.
- Risk Assessment & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and detailed process analyses with a focus on proactive risk identification. Develop and recommend risk-mitigation activities and follow them through to successful closure.
- Control Development & Maintenance: Create, modify, and maintain the operational and design effectiveness of finance processes and internal controls, ensuring they align with best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Compliance Oversight: Participate in the SOX 302 quarterly certification process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all required documentation and testing.
- Strategic Advisory: Provide expert guidance on Controllership-related matters to Finance partners, serving as a trusted advisor on complex financial issues.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate effectively with teams across IT, HR, Finance, and Accounting to ensure best practices are followed and successfully implemented in all finance operations.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for efficiency gains, automation, and continuous improvement within finance processes while maintaining control integrity.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present findings, recommendations, and status updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders in a clear, persuasive manner.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need a strong educational foundation combined with practical experience in finance, accounting, or related fields. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate both technical expertise and the interpersonal skills necessary to influence positive change across the organization.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of relevant finance or accounting experience, with demonstrated progression in responsibilities and complexity.
- Project Management Skills: Proven experience leading or contributing to complex projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Internal Controls Expertise: Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and/or testing internal controls within a corporate or audit environment.
- Multi-Tasking Ability: Capacity to effectively manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
- Big 4 or Equivalent Experience: Prior experience with a major public accounting firm or similar business controls environment is highly valued.
- Advanced Excel Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other advanced formulas for data analysis and reporting.
- Team Orientation: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across global teams and build positive working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will strengthen your application and demonstrate additional expertise that would be valuable in this role:
- Hands-on experience processing payroll and reviewing payroll inputs through output, with understanding of end-to-end payroll cycles.
- Controllership background with prior internal audit experience, including familiarity with audit methodologies and standards.
- Knowledge of regional payroll regulations, tax requirements, and employment laws within the APAC region.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent are advantageous.
- Experience working in matrixed organizational structures with global stakeholders.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools and techniques for financial analysis and reporting.
