About the Role: Senior Data Scientist – Omni-Channel Analytics
As a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will serve as a technical leader and mentor within our growing Data Science organization. You'll be responsible for leading, analyzing, and engineering vast datasets to generate top-tier business insights through cutting-edge predictive models. Your work will span both brick-and-mortar retail environments as well as sophisticated e-commerce platforms, creating a seamless analytical framework that bridges the physical and digital customer experiences.

What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a leader within our Data Science team, you will:
- Lead with Vision: Set the strategic direction for the data science team, focusing on Omni-Channel analysis across physical retail locations and digital e-commerce platforms. You'll define the roadmap that guides our analytical efforts and ensures alignment with business objectives.
- Champion Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead cross-functional teams, working closely with Analysts, Technical Partners, and Business Leaders to establish an improvement roadmap based on pressing business needs. You'll serve as the bridge between technical data science capabilities and business strategy.
- Translate Business Needs into Technical Solutions: Convert complex business requirements into precise product specifications that guide development efforts. You'll ensure that our data infrastructure and analytical tools directly support business objectives.
- Facilitate Strategic Planning: Lead architecture design sessions, aligning strategies with business drivers, current challenges, and long-term organizational goals. Your technical expertise will inform high-level decision-making.
- Build Robust Data Pipelines: Design and implement efficient data pipelines that address critical business problems, leveraging technical tools and retail systems to ensure data quality and accessibility.
- Establish Best Practices: Set and execute Data Science team best practices, including leading code reviews for team members to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to technical standards.
- Create Compelling Visualizations: Develop compelling visuals, charts, and graphs that resonate with data, adapting presentations to suit different audiences—from C-suite executives to technical team members.
- Apply Advanced Analytics: Utilize advanced analytical techniques including regression analysis, machine learning, and clustering to drive meaningful insights that inform business strategy.

Essential Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative field. Advanced degrees are a plus but not required.
- Professional Experience: 2+ years of experience developing Analysis, Statistical, or AI models to extract insights and address business challenges—ideally in a retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods setting.
- Technical Proficiency in Web Analytics: Strong capability in web analytics and visitor segmentation, using data to drive informed decisions and improve online customer experiences.
- Team Leadership: Experience leading small teams in rapid and accurate data analysis, feature definition, and innovative problem-solving for complex business challenges.
- Analytical Storytelling: Expertise in working through intricate issues and developing data-driven narratives that support decision-making at all organizational levels.
- Cloud Platform Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency with cloud platforms and modern technology stacks.
- Machine Learning/AI Skills: Proficiency in machine learning or artificial intelligence techniques, with the ability to apply these methods to real-world business problems.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong skills in troubleshooting and root cause analysis to identify and resolve data quality issues and analytical challenges.
- Adaptability: Thrives in fast-paced, changing environments with the ability to pivot quickly as business needs evolve.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective team and individual interactions across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with various project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum)
- Knowledge of multiple data technology areas:
- Data pipelines and ETL tools (SQL, SSIS, Knime, Alteryx, Tableau Prep)
- Database platforms including Snowflake and SQL Server
- Scripting languages (JavaScript, VBA, Python)
- Statistical and Data Science languages (R, SAS, Python for Data Science)
- Experience applying advanced analytics techniques including regression analysis, clustering, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, p-values, causal inference, Random Forest, Bagging, Boosting, and Time Series analysis
