We're currently seeking a Senior Data Scientist who will lead, analyze, and specialize in broad datasets, creating top-tier meaningful business experiences through advanced predictive models across both physical retail and digital commerce platforms.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex, you'll be a mentor to the Data Science team, providing technical expertise and guiding research projects while fostering cross-functional collaboration to meet internal client information needs. You'll lead cross-functional teams, collaborating with Analysts, Technical Partners, and Business Leaders to establish an improvement roadmap based on business needs.
- Provide leadership and set strategic vision and direction for the data science team, focused on Omni-Channel analysis across both physical retail and e-commerce
- Lead cross-functional teams, collaborating with Analysts, Technical Partners, and Business Leaders to establish an improvement roadmap based on business needs
- Translate business requirements into precise product specifications to guide development
- Lead solution architecture sessions, aligning strategies with business drivers, challenges, and long-term goals
- Design efficient data pipelines to address business problems, using technical tools and retail systems
- Set and execute Data Science team best practices and lead code reviews for team members
- Create compelling visuals, charts, and graphs that resonate with data, adapting them to different audiences
- Use advanced analytics techniques (regression, machine learning, clustering) to drive actionable insights

Essential Qualifications
- 2+ years' experience developing Analysis, Statistical, or AI models to extract insights and address business challenges, ideally in a retail setting
- Proficiency in web analytics and visitor segmentation using data to drive informed decisions and improve online experiences
- Experience leading small teams in rapid and accurate data analysis, feature definition, and innovative problem-solving for business challenges
- Expertise in working on intricate issues, developing data-driven stories for decision-making
- Cloud platform/tech proficiency
- Proficiency in AI or machine learning techniques
- Expertise in troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Effectiveness in fast-paced, changing environments
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective team and individual communication
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of various project management methodologies (waterfall, agile, scrum)
- Proficiency in multiple data technology areas:
- Data pipelines and ETL tools (e.g., SQL, SSIS, Knime, Alteryx, Tableau Prep)
- Database platforms including Snowflake and SQL Server
- Scripting languages (e.g., Snowscript, JavaScript, VBA, Python)
- Statistical and Data Science languages (e.g., R, SAS, Python for Data Science)
- Use of machine learning techniques
- Experience with advanced analytics techniques (e.g., regression analysis, clustering, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, p-values, causal inference, Random Forest, Bagging, Boosting, Time Series)
