About the Role

As a key member of our Supported Search Information team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data pipelines, datasets, and ETL processes that form the backbone of our advertising technology. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams across arenaflex to ensure data quality, accessibility, and reliability for analysis and reporting—empowering sponsors to leverage our self-service platform effectively.
This is a full-time position available for both night and day shifts, offering the flexibility to work remotely from the comfort of your home. What You'll Bring
We're seeking a candidate with a strong foundation in data engineering concepts, database design, ETL processes, and data mining. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with modern data technologies and a proven track record of building scalable data solutions.
Essential Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in SQL, Python, Apache Spark (Scala), and Hadoop ecosystem technologies. You should be comfortable working with both relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, and similar platforms.
- ETL & Data Pipeline Experience: Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Apache Airflow, and expertise in real-time data processing using Apache Kafka or similar streaming platforms.
- Database Design: Experience designing and implementing data models for efficient storage and retrieval, with a focus on performance optimization and scalability.
- Cloud Platforms: Proficiency working with cloud computing services, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure, including distributed storage systems like Hive and Elasticsearch.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and managing containerized applications at scale.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

How You Will Make an Impact
As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in building and maintaining robust, flexible data pipelines that ingest, transform, and store massive volumes of data. Your work will directly support advertising operations on arenaflex.com and its subsidiaries, impacting millions of customers daily.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Pipeline Development: Build and maintain scalable, resilient data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and storing high-volume data to support our advertising platform's analytical and operational needs.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Work with cloud platforms like Azure and Google Cloud for data storage, processing, and analysis. Design and implement cloud-native solutions that leverage the best practices of modern data architecture.
- Application Deployment: Create and deploy large-scale, containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes across public cloud environments (GCP and Azure).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other Scrum teams, QA, Product, Program Management, and Partner Operations while working alongside cross-functional enterprise development teams.
- On-Call Support: Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation to investigate and resolve production issues across cross-functional teams, ensuring system reliability and performance.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving existing processes, tools, and systems to achieve high scale and productivity. Contribute to raising the technical bar within the team.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, architectures, and technical specifications.
