Position Overview: Test Development Engineer (Remote – Data Entry & Platform Support) We are seeking an experienced Test Development Engineer to join our remote workforce. In this role, you’ll be the technical liaison between internal development teams, external manufacturing partners, and our global security operations. You will design, implement, and maintain test frameworks, drive security hardening initiatives, and provide critical data‑entry support for large‑scale platform validation. This full‑time, 8‑hour‑per‑day position offers a competitive hourly rate of $25 per hour and is based in the United States, with a primary focus on candidates located in or near Atlanta, GA. As a Test Development Engineer, you’ll ensure that the hardware and software components meet the highest standards of performance, security, and reliability before they reach production. Key Responsibilities Security Hardening & Compliance: Design, document, and enforce security hardening processes for hardware providers across North America; collaborate with internal and partner engineers to drive security enhancements. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with software, hardware, and security teams to investigate and resolve security vulnerabilities, ensuring seamless integration across the product lifecycle. Test Infrastructure Management: Oversee server‑side test environment redesigns, provide support for periodic security refreshes, manage remote access, and serve as the primary administrator for test stations. Python‑Based Test Automation: Develop, maintain, and execute Python test scripts driven by test specifications; troubleshoot script failures and enhance test coverage. Root‑Cause Analysis & Remediation: Conduct deep‐level driver analysis of test failures; implement corrective and preventive actions to improve overall system stability. Data Entry & Reporting: Accurately capture test results, configuration data, and security metrics into centralized databases; generate clear, actionable reports for engineering leadership. Partner Coordination: Serve as the technical liaison with Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), and Joint Development Manufacturers (JDM) to ensure test specifications are met. Continuous Improvement: Champion best practices in test development, security hardening, and data integrity, fostering a culture of proactive quality assurance. Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in software development, hardware testing, or test automation, preferably in a high‑scale, data‑center environment. Hands‑on experience with Python programming, including development of test scripts, data processing, and automation frameworks. Solid understanding of security life‑cycle processes, server architecture, and enterprise‑grade networking equipment. Experience performing root‑cause analysis on driver‑level failures and implementing remediation strategies. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with external partners (ODMs, OEMs, JDMs) and internal cross‑functional teams. Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills Experience with cloud platform development (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud‑native testing tools. Knowledge of firmware development and hardware configuration management. Familiarity with security testing frameworks such as OWASP, NIST, or CIS Benchmarks. Prior involvement in security hardening initiatives for data‑center infrastructure. Exposure to Agile or Scrum methodologies and ability to work in fast‑paced sprint cycles. Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and stakeholder engagement.
