Position Overview
As a Remote Data Entry Specialist and Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate patient information management and delivering exceptional customer service. This position involves entering patient data, processing prescription requests, handling customer inquiries, and resolving issues related to pharmacy services. You'll be working in a fast-paced environment where your attention to detail and communication skills will make a real impact on patient care.
This is a full-time position offering competitive hourly rates between $27 and $35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. The position is remote, allowing you to work from home while still being part of a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a valued member of the arenaflex team, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Patient Data Entry: Accurately enter new patient enrollment information into our systems using established data entry techniques and guidelines. Ensure all information is entered correctly and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Prescription Processing: Handle patient medication requests within HIPAA guidelines, including entering refill orders for processing. Investigate and obtain missing prescription information when necessary.
- Medical Abbreviation Interpretation: Decode and interpret clinical abbreviations (SIG codes) to ensure accurate prescription processing and patient safety.
- Exception Handling: Resolve all data entry-related exceptions and discrepancies efficiently and accurately.
- Customer Communication: Handle correspondence with patients through inbound calls, chats, and emails. Make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed to resolve issues or gather information.
- Third-Party Issue Resolution: Resolve third-party insurance issues by examining claims, collecting information, making necessary corrections, and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements.
- Insurance Coordination: Make phone calls to insurers and other parties to obtain information, gain override approvals, or otherwise resolve third-party issues.
- Pharmacy Support: Provide assistance to Pharmacists, both those in the office and those in other locations. Identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Adhere to state and government guidelines regarding information passage and patient enrollment.
- License Requirements: Obtain an active professional license or certification within the first 90 days of employment and maintain it throughout employment.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Computer Skills: Basic level computer skills including the ability to start up and shut down computers, use mouse functions, start and close programs, switch between programs, save documents, print reports, and access information online.
- Web Navigation: Basic web browser skills including opening a browser, typing URLs correctly, using search engines, bookmarking websites, navigating back/forward/stop buttons, and completing online forms.
- Keyboard Skills: Intermediate-level keyboarding skills with a minimum typing speed of 25 WPM. Must be capable of typing from memory and organizing documents.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Legal Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment.
- One and a half years of experience as a pharmacy technician with certification/registration by the state as granted by the state Board of Pharmacy or a nationally recognized certification organization.
- Experience providing customer care to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluating customer satisfaction.
- Intermediate to advanced-level keyboarding skills (minimum 35 WPM, typing from memory, formatting documents).
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
