The role involves managing cases between carriers and agents, providing consultancy services, and ensuring all underwriting requirements are fulfilled.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with the sales team, supporting them in processing client applications
- Manage cases between carriers and agents to ensure all underwriting requirements are fulfilled. This involves meticulously reviewing client applications to confirm that they are complete for the underwriting process
- Provide case consultancy services to the agents
- Liaise with carrier contacts regarding pending cases
- Flag product suitability and review variable rate illustrations
- Propose improvements to processes and technology
- Perform additional duties related to the New Business Department as assigned by the immediate manager
Skills
- 1-2 years of Case Management experience in the life insurance industry
- Previous experience working at an MGA will be given preference
- Basic understanding of life insurance products is a strong asset
- Basic understanding of the underwriting process
- Proficiency in French is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities -- Capable of managing tight deadlines and multiple priorities effectively
- Effective problem-solving and investigative skills
- Reliable, trustworthy, proactive, with a keen sense of ownership and initiative
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Approachable and professional in delivering suboptimal information via in-person, phone, and email interactions
- Strong computer skills with a capacity to learn new systems
- Ability to handle stressful situations with a positive, proactive attitude
- Positive demeanor with an openness to constructive feedback
- Must reside and be authorized to work in Canada
