The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is charged with implementing the state's public school laws for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade public schools at the direction of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and State Board of Education.
Description of Work
The primary purpose of the Literacy Facilitator position is to provide statewide Lexia- Voyager Sopris Learning Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) professional development aligned to the Read to Achieve Act. Furthermore, this position will serve as the communication link between NCDPI Office of Early Learning Regional Consultants to increase aligned educator professional knowledge with the intent to establish a cohesive, sustainable Science of Reading implementation model across NC.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Recruitment Range: $57,983.00 - $74,000.00

Office of Early Learning (OEL):
The purpose of the Office of Early Learning (OEL) is to provide leadership, technical assistance, professional development, and other support to local education agencies for the implementation of evidence-informed practices in Preschool – Grade 3 programs, including the NC Early Learning Inventory. The OEL promotes the alignment of Preschool – Grade 3 program components to address the unique needs of young children and their families, with an emphasis on standards, curricula, assessment, and evidence-informed instructional practices. In addition, the OEL provides oversight for federally funded preschool programs, including Preschool Exceptional Children, Title I Preschool, and the Head Start State Collaboration Office.
Minimum Education and Experience
