What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Software Engineering College Intern at arenaflex, you'll be assigned to work on one of our dynamic Technology teams based on availability and your skills/career interests. Here's a glimpse of the areas where you could make an impact:
- Programming Execution and Reliability Engineering: Help build and maintain mission-critical software systems that ensure smooth operations across our entire network. You'll contribute to code development, testing, and deployment processes while learning industry best practices for software reliability.
- Operations Control Center (OCC) Technology & Innovation: Work on systems that manage flight operations, crew scheduling, and real-time decision-making. This includes technologies for crew management, team routing, and TPF operations that keep our flights running on time.
- Omnichannel Innovation: Be part of teams developing reservation systems, customer experience platforms, business and enterprise mobility solutions, and digital cabin experiences. You'll help create the seamless digital journeys that our customers rely on.
- Procurement, Supply Chain, AI & Automation: Contribute to systems that streamline our purchasing processes, supply chain management, and implement cutting-edge AI and automation solutions that drive efficiency across the organization.
- Global Sales, Delivery & Engineering Services: Work on platforms that power our global sales operations, customer delivery systems, and engineering services that support our worldwide network.
- Airport Customer Service, Cargo & Baggage Operations: Help develop technology solutions that enhance airport operations, improve baggage handling systems, and support our Agile coaching office in implementing best practices.
- TechOps IT, Digital Maintenance Systems & Digital Flight Planning: Contribute to systems that keep our aircraft flying safely and efficiently, including maintenance tracking, digital flight planning, and operational support tools.
- Corporate Innovation: Work on enterprise-wide technology initiatives that support our internal operations, employee experiences, and corporate strategy.
Throughout your internship, you'll be expected to:
- Collaborate with team members on software development projects using agile methodologies
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality
- Learn new technologies and frameworks quickly
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Contribute to troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
- Document your work and present findings to your team
What You Need to Succeed: Minimum Qualifications
We're looking for ambitious students who are ready to learn, grow, and make an impact. To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at an accredited college or university
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Completed at least two years of your college program by the start of the internship
- Degree emphasis in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Software Development, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), Data Science, Data Analysis, Operations Research, Cybersecurity, Business Management, or a related technical field
- Strong analytical, leadership, written, and verbal communication skills
- Dedicated work ethic and commitment to excellence
- Ability to embrace diverse perspectives, thinking styles, and backgrounds
- Commitment to prioritizing safety and security of self, others, and data
- Interest in tackling complex problems and willingness to overcome obstacles
- Awareness of cloud technology, Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC), and/or computer hardware components and support
- Ability to conduct yourself professionally in a business casual work environment
- Interest in pursuing a full-time career with arenaflex after graduation, should an opportunity arise
