Position Overview: Senior Strategies Investigator – Last Mile Delivery

In this critical role, you will be responsible for supporting last-mile package gauging and carrier scope quantification. Your primary goal will be to align carrier package capabilities with advanced transport-to-home demand plans while driving operational excellence through precise package volume projections down to the lowest level of granularity.
This position offers the flexibility of a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home or a location of your choice, with occasional travel to our Minnesota headquarters as needed (up to 4 times per year). Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Strategies Investigator at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our last-mile delivery strategy. Your responsibilities will include:
- Last-Mile Package Analysis: Support comprehensive package gauging initiatives and carrier scope quantification efforts to ensure optimal delivery performance across all regions.
- Demand Planning Alignment: Collaborate closely with functional groups, network planning, and S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) teams to align carrier package capabilities with advanced transport-to-home demand plans.
- Volume Projection Excellence: Drive operational greatness through precise package volume projections at the most granular level, enabling accurate resource allocation and capacity planning.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize advanced analytics and data visualization to inform strategic decisions and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with carrier partners, HQ teams, and field organizations to ensure seamless coordination and communication across the supply chain network.
- Innovation & Problem-Solving: Embrace fast-paced change and navigate ambiguity with confidence, developing creative solutions that address evolving customer expectations and market dynamics.
- Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the last-mile delivery network and propose innovative solutions to enhance speed, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present findings, recommendations, and progress updates to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders in a clear, compelling manner.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of data analysis experience or relevant domain expertise in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or retail operations.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in SQL, R, Python, and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms in large-scale, complex business environments.
- Big Data Technologies: Hands-on experience working with Big Data technologies including Hadoop and Hive.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and reasoning abilities with a keen attention to detail and a passion for data-driven insights.
- Problem-Solving: Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to think outside the box and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
- Forecasting & Modeling: Demonstrated experience in forecasting, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis.
- Ownership & Results: Proven track record of taking ownership and driving measurable results in previous roles.
- Goal Setting: Ability to define clear objectives and outcomes while tracking progress and communicating updates effectively.
- Decision-Making: Capable of making informed decisions with minimal guidance from supervisors or leadership.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- Experience in distribution or transportation operations, preferably in a retail or e-commerce environment.
- Familiarity with last-mile delivery logistics and carrier network optimization.
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their application in supply chain forecasting.
- Experience working with geographic information systems (GIS) for route optimization analysis.
- Understanding of carrier contract negotiations and performance metrics.
- Project management certification (PMP, Six Sigma, or similar).
