The Opportunity: Lead Data Analyst

In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary analytical partner for cross-functional teams, driving business performance through insightful data analysis and innovative reporting solutions. You will lead initiatives to build robust tooling, communicate findings across the organization, and establish a single source of truth for our most critical business metrics. What You'll Do
As a Lead Data Analyst at arenaflex, you will be instrumental in driving the use of analytics as a core value driver across our organization. Your responsibilities will include:
- Business Performance Reporting & Visualization: Serve as the primary partner for cross-functional stakeholders to understand platform performance. When metrics deviate from expectations, dive deep to drive meaningful, actionable insights that help improve business performance or double down on success.
- Reporting and Tooling Strategy: Lead the team in creating meaningful and consistent metrics and reporting across all streaming platforms. Develop scalable solutions that provide real-time visibility into business performance.
- BI Execution: Drive reporting for exceptionally large-scale data environments. Act as a subject matter expert for professionals on the team and collaborate with Data Engineering and Engineering teams to design and build performant ETLs, intermediate tables, and beautiful, fast dashboards using Tableau, Looker, and other visualization tools.
- Creating a Single Source of Truth: Collaborate with our Governance team to bring together analysts and partners from across the organization to define and standardize the metrics by which we assess product performance. Ensure data consistency and reliability across all reporting.
- ETL and Metric Design: Own metric design and creation by defining business requirements, structuring and optimizing data, and ensuring long-term data scalability. Build robust data pipelines that support ongoing business needs.
- Organization and Communication: Partner closely with business stakeholders to identify and understand what drives their decisions. Work with other data teams to improve platform capabilities around data modeling, testing platforms, data visualization, and data architecture.
What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, MIS, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Expertise developing data analysis and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, Chartio, or similar platforms.
- 7+ years of analytical experience, ideally specifically in analysis engineering.
- Mastery of SQL, with some experience in SparkSQL, Hive, or similar technologies.
- Substantial experience with OLAP databases like Snowflake or Redshift.
- Experience developing and maintaining aggregated tables for reporting through ETLs.
- Project and resource management experience, outlining objectives and schedules, and coordinating work across multiple sponsors.
- Proficiency in Python/R or other statistical programming languages.
- Extreme drive and passion for delivering outstanding products.
- Strong interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal presentation skills and experience presenting to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- A great sense of humor and the ability to bring positive energy to the team.
- Unique interests or areas of passion that influence the way you interact with others and/or approach your work.
- Experience in the entertainment, streaming, or media industry.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and modern data stack technologies.
- Experience mentoring or leading junior analysts.
Compensation & Benefits
At arenaflex, we believe in rewarding exceptional talent with competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits. The hiring range for this position is $136,100 to $182,400 per year (for Santa Monica, CA location) and $142,600 to $191,100 per year (for New York, NY location). The base salary actually offered will consider internal equity and may also depend on the candidate's geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to competitive base salaries, arenaflex offers bonus and/or long-term incentive units as part of the compensation package, along with the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, subject to the level and position advertised.
