Key Responsibilities
As a Financial Accountant at arenaflex, you will be responsible for:
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Provide counsel and guidance to more experienced administration regarding financial bookkeeping-related matters, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards.
- Complex Accounting Exercises: Perform complex exercises related to maintaining record accounts, creating fiscal summaries, and generating comprehensive administrative reports that support organizational decision-making.
- Data Collection and Review: Accumulate and review financial information from various sources to prepare precise financial and administrative reports that meet regulatory requirements.
- General Ledger Verification: Review information from the general ledger, unit reports, and other financial systems to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Account Reconciliation: Prepare and review account reconciliations and confirmations, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Process Improvement: Investigate and evaluate projects relating to financial bookkeeping procedures, techniques, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Internal Controls: Perform ongoing financial control functions in accordance with internal control policies and procedures, ensuring robust financial governance.
- Training and Mentorship: Provide practical advice and training to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Offer support for compliance and risk management requirements, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies.

Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Analysis, Financial Reporting, Bookkeeping Reporting, or Risk Reporting. This experience may be demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications would be highly advantageous:
- 2+ years of SEC/regulatory quarterly reporting experience
- Fiserv knowledge and understanding
- COSO-based Sarbanes-Oxley internal control assessment implementation experience
- Military knowledge or analysis experience including operational management, project management, mission construction management, and finance management
- 1+ year of credit card industry reporting experience
- Corporate/business loan products knowledge
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- Big 4 or regional public accounting/financial services experience
- Intermediate to advanced Essbase/SmartView skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables
- Strong knowledge and experience with General Ledger reconciliations and automation tools
- Independent judgment and creative problem-solving abilities to analyze, identify, and anticipate downstream effects in complex matrixed environments
- Understanding of US GAAP financial statements or financial statement preparation with the ability to interpret and summarize complex data into understandable, meaningful information and recommendations
- Demonstrated understanding of accounting/reporting/internal control issues
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access)
