What You'll Do
As a Data Scientist specializing in Talent Acquisition Analytics at arenaflex, you'll serve as the analytical backbone of our TA organization. You'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines that transform raw hiring data into strategic insights. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and creative problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including talent acquisition specialists, software engineers, HR business partners, and executive leadership to define business processes and provide analytical support that drives strategic decision-making
- Develop complex data solutions by writing code to analyze intricate datasets and design, develop, and evaluate data transformations that address specific business challenges within the talent acquisition lifecycle
- Build automated data pipelines that are flexible, efficient, and scalable to facilitate client-facing reporting and real-time dashboard capabilities
- Streamline talent acquisition operations by automating repetitive processes, reducing manual effort, and improving overall operational efficiency across the hiring funnel
- Create compelling visualizations and reports that communicate complex analytical findings to business stakeholders and executive leadership in clear, actionable formats
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in our candidate sourcing, screening, and hiring processes
- Develop predictive models that forecast hiring needs, candidate success, retention risks, and other key workforce metrics
- Partner with technology teams to integrate analytical solutions into existing HR systems and applicant tracking platforms
- Stay current with industry trends in data warehousing, machine learning, and HR analytics to continuously improve our analytical capabilities
- Mentor and train team members on data analysis best practices and analytical tools
What We're Looking For
We're seeking an autonomous, results-driven Data Scientist who can take ownership of projects from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with ambiguity, proactive about identifying opportunities for improvement, and passionate about using data to tell compelling stories that drive business results.
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited institution
- Technical Programming Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience with data querying languages (such as SQL), scripting languages (such as Python), or statistical/numerical programming (such as R, SAS, or Matlab)
- Machine Learning Expertise: Minimum of 3 years of experience with machine learning and statistical modeling, including experience with data analysis tools and techniques, model evaluation metrics, and parameters that influence model performance
- Applied Analytics Experience: Demonstrated experience applying theoretical models to solve real-world business problems in a professional environment
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Proven track record of identifying business problems and developing data-driven solutions
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or Computer Science
- Previous experience in a Machine Learning or Data Scientist role within a large technology company or fast-paced startup environment
- Experience with talent acquisition or HR analytics specifically
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) such as Workday, Greenhouse, or Lever
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar frameworks
- Understanding of A/B testing methodologies and experimental design
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
