Position Overview

In this role, you will utilize your analytical knowledge and technical expertise to help shape the future of our business intelligence ecosystem. This is an exciting opportunity to work with massive datasets, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.
As a Data Analyst at arenaflex, you will be at the forefront of transforming raw data into actionable insights that directly influence our content investment strategies and financial planning. You will work closely with finance teams, product managers, and engineering teams to build robust reporting solutions and ensure data quality across our studio ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Build Reports and Visualizations: Create comprehensive reports and visualizations to support finance teams in their strategic planning and budget allocation processes. Your work will directly impact critical business decisions and external reporting.
- Data Ownership and Integration: Understand and own our financial data to connect datasets across our studio ecosystem. You will serve as the go-to expert for data lineage and relationships between various financial systems.
- Advanced Technical Analysis: Work with SQL, Hive, Flash, Voila, Python, and other cutting-edge technologies to drive in-depth analysis and uncover patterns that inform business strategy.
- Data Quality Management: Create and monitor errors and alerts to ensure our data remains clean, accurate, and reliable. You will implement best practices for data validation and quality assurance.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with product managers and non-technical users to translate vague business questions into meaningful reports and actionable insights that drive business value.
- Engineering Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering teams to prioritize and develop our connected data model, ensuring scalability and performance for future growth.
- Strategic Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analyses into financial and operational data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth.
- Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive documentation for data processes, reports, and dashboards to enable self-service analytics across the organization.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in a data analyst role or similar position, with a proven track record of delivering impactful analytical solutions.
- Technical Skills: Strong analytical skills with an excellent grasp of SQL and Python are required. You should be comfortable writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performing data manipulation.
- Visualization Tools: Experience with dashboarding platforms like Tableau, Dashbuilder, and Looker is required. You should be able to create intuitive, interactive dashboards that tell compelling stories with data.
- Data Analysis Passion: You enjoy working with data to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities. You have a natural curiosity and are always looking for insights that can drive business value.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy as these reports are used for key business decision-making and external reporting. You take pride in delivering error-free work.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills that allow you to partner effectively with non-technical stakeholders while driving projects forward. You can translate technical concepts into business language.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, or Economics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data modeling fundamentals, working with ETL processes, and LookML is a significant plus.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and big data technologies.
- Experience in the media, entertainment, or streaming industry.
- Familiarity with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Understanding of content economics and ROI analysis in media production.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and project management.
