Accountant

SanMar is a company that supports financial consolidation and reporting. The Accountant will manage general ledger accounts, contribute to the month-end close process, prepare financial reports, and assist with audits while ensuring compliance with GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and assist controller in preparation of monthly/quarterly consolidated financial statements
• Contribute to the month-end close process to ensure timely, accurate financial data that is in compliance with GAAP and accounting policies with the ability to communicate status and results
• Conduct fact checks, resolve discrepancies, gather and analyze information
• Prepare and audit financial reports
• Assist with year-end external audit
• Produce scheduled and ad hoc reports
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Comply with all policies and standards

Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field
• 1-3 years of experience in financial reporting and internal controls
• Collaborative and team-oriented work style
• Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet data manipulation and creation
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Self-starter and ability to work independently and balance multiple projects and processes simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail, thoughtful decision-making, sound problem-solving, sufficient time and project management skills
• Prior experience in public accounting or working with a fast-paced environment is preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) within 1 Year preferred
• Experience in fast-paced, rapidly growing environment
