The Out of Country Cardiac Programme Manager plays a central role in supporting the delivery of CNN’s cardiac programme. This includes managing patient data, coordinating with clinical and finance teams, maintaining governance standards, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the programme.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Leadership & Coordination
Oversee the design, coordination, and delivery of CNN’s cardiac programme
Ensure all activities are child-centred, compliant with CNN policies, and aligned with international humanitarian and safeguarding standards.
Coordinate with local partners and field teams to ensure accurate beneficiary tracking and secure data management.
Work closely with senior management to align programme design with strategic objectives and available funding.
Function & Team Leadership
Continuously develop, in consultation with the Senior Leadership Team, a fit for purpose cardiac programme that supports CNN strategic and operational objectives.
Ensure the cardiac programme is appropriately resourced & structured, in consultation with the Senior Leadership Team
Foster a culture of professionalism, empathy, and accountability within the team and between the team and the broader organisation, cultivating a “one team” approach
Support staff development and ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities, and reporting lines
Financial Oversight & Resource Management
Work with the Finance and Fundraising teams to oversee programme budgets and ensure accurate expenditure tracking
Support the preparation of narrative reports for donors and trustees.
Operations, Compliance & Due Diligence
Ensure all partner agreements, contracts, and payments are supported by proper documentation and vetting.
Oversee data protection, beneficiary confidentiality, and informed consent procedures, especially for child medical cases.
Maintain oversight of procurement, logistics, and documentation for the programme
Partnership Management
Build and maintain effective working relationships with those involved in CNN’s cardiac programme.
Support localisation efforts by strengthening the capacity of local partners in safeguarding, monitoring, and operational accountability.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)
Oversee programme monitoring systems, ensuring collection of accurate data on outputs, outcomes, and impact.
Ensure all reporting - internal and external - is accurate, evidence-based, and timely.
General
Any other responsibilities commensurate with the level and scope of the role
Person Specification
Significant experience in programme or project management, ideally within a healthcare setting
Demonstrable ability to lead, motivate, and manage a multidisciplinary team effectively
Sound understanding of governance frameworks and compliance requirements within health or care settings
Ability to develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures
Ability to work effectively with finance teams and provide clear financial oversight
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Commitment
