Position Overview

Boots to Health Foundation is seeking a Volunteer Grant & Funding Development Writer to support fundraising and organizational growth efforts through grant research and proposal development. This role plays an important part in helping expand services and resources available to Veterans nationwide.

This is a fully remote, unpaid volunteer position open only to individuals currently located within the United States.

    Key Responsibilities
  • Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission and programming
  • Review funding requirements and assess eligibility for foundations, agencies, and corporate sponsors
  • Draft grant proposals, letters of inquiry, narratives, and supporting funding materials
  • Edit and refine submissions to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with application guidelines
  • Track grant deadlines, reporting schedules, and submission timelines
  • Coordinate with internal team members to gather program information, data, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with donor and funder engagement initiatives when needed
    Required Qualifications
  • Current graduate student or graduate in Public Health or a related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5 required
  • Prior grant writing experience is required
  • Strong writing, editing, research, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines
  • Comfortable collaborating remotely in a professional environment
    Location Requirement
  • Applicants must be physically located within the United States
  • Applications from outside the U.S. will not be considered
  • Preference may be given to candidates available during Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours
    Additional Information
  • Students may be eligible to apply volunteer hours toward practicum, internship, or academic requirements depending on institutional approval
    Time Commitment
