Video Editor for Interview Podcast + Social Clips (Ongoing) - Contract to Hire

About the role:

The Safe Haven is a multimedia production studio in Champaign, Illinois. We produce EDEN Sessions, a long-running artist interview series, plus behind-the-scenes content from our studio. We're looking for a skilled editor for ongoing work with consistent weekly volume.

What you'll edit:

EDEN Sessions full-length interview podcasts (multi-camera, color graded, captioned, cut for YouTube)

Short-form vertical clips pulled from those episodes for Reels and TikTok (15 to 90 seconds)

Behind-the-scenes studio content and recap edits

Aesthetic: Cinematic, editorial, premium but soulful. We care about pacing and taste, not just clean cuts.

Requirements:

Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve

Strong sense of rhythm, pacing, and storytelling

Color correction and audio cleanup

Caption/subtitle experience

Turnaround: 48 to 72 hours short-form, 5 to 7 days long-form

Able to handle ongoing weekly volume

Budget: $30 to $60 per short-form clip, $100 to $175 per long-form episode depending on length and complexity. Open to a monthly retainer for the right editor.
