Position Overview

The Treasury Consultant is a key contributor within Corporate Treasury's Investment, Debt & Derivative Accounting team. This role supports critical accounting, reporting, and compliance functions across UnitedHealth Group's investment portfolio and debt/derivative activities. The position requires solid analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple business partners to ensure timely and accurate financial results.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

    Primary Responsibilities:
  • Monitor investment accounting and compliance across US GAAP, Statutory, and Tax reporting bases
  • Lead and support periodend close activities, including account analysis, reconciliations, reasonableness checks, and subledger entries
  • Partner crossfunctionally with Capital Markets, Cash Management, and Investment Management teams to support reporting, reconciliation, and setup of debt and derivative transactions
  • Process investment trades, calculate/report realized gains and losses, and perform related financial analyses
  • Support intercompany loan activity, including eliminations and potential FX hedging considerations
  • Apply modern tools and technology to streamline processes, improve reporting accuracy, and advance operational efficiency within Treasury

    Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance experience OR Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting experience
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or related discipline
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including macros and complex formulas
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment
    Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the Financial Services or Insurance industries
  • Experience with systems or tools such as Python, PeopleSoft Financials, Bloomberg, or Power BI
  • Experience with State Streets investment software (PAM for Investment/Mortgages)
  • Experience with FIS treasury workstation (Quantum)
  • Familiarity with fixedincome securities, debt instruments, and derivatives
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles
  • Proven solid communication skills with proven attention to detail, teamwork, and leadership capabilities

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
