Teacher Education Instructor PK-12 Literacy - Adjunct Faculty

Class Description

Adjunct Teacher Education faculty are needed to teach classes at
the Community College of Baltimore County in pk-12 Literacy.
Classes may include in-person during the day, remote synchronously
in the evening, and 100% online through CCBC’s learning management
system.

Adjunct faculty are expected to prepare and deliver instruction,
monitor student progress, cooperate with college support staff, and
participate in required trainings and meetings. Adjunct Faculty are
selected based on the needs of the program, applicant proficiency,
course availability, and student enrollment.

Interested candidates are encouraged to indicate their availability
during the semester and in which modality (in-person, online, etc.)
they would like to be considered. If in-person is possible, please
indicate preferred campus(es).

Locations: Essex, Dundalk, & Essex

Level 1 - $1,050 per credit hour

Minimum Requirements
• Master’s degree in education-related field required. M.Ed.
Reading Education or Reading Specialist preferred.
• Five (5) years of teaching experience in pk-12 setting with at
least three (3) as a reading specialist required. College teachingexperience preferred. Mentoring and/or coaching experiencepreferred.
• Expert knowledge of literacy assessments, interventions and
instruction required. Working knowledge of the Science of Readingpreferred.
• Proficient working with learning management systems.
• Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications
knowledge.

• Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when you
open a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allowsemployees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdrawtax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors:TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, PartTime Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save forretirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees maycontribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b)post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combinedfor the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.

Parking

Free. Must obtain a parking permit from the Department of Public
Safety to use on all campuses.

Sick and Safe Leave

CCBC is pleased to offer paid sick and safe leave for part-time
employees. Paid sick and safe leave is earned by all part-time
employees including credit and non-credit adjunct faculty,
part-time associates and other part-time employees.
