Job Summary:

As a Taxonomy Analyst, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining a comprehensive, standardized taxonomy for veterinary services, procedures, and products across our organization. Your work will enhance our ability to deliver better care, enable strategic pricing initiatives, and integrate disparate systems under a unified data structure. This role will also be responsible for mapping inventory items to global inventory codes to improve procurement, analytics, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Taxonomy Development & Maintenance
    • Build and maintain a standardized taxonomy for veterinary procedures, medications, services, and products across all hospitals.
    • Work with medical, operational, and IT stakeholders to ensure taxonomy aligns with real-world workflows and industry standards.
  2. Data Enhancement & Governance
    • Identify and resolve inconsistencies in existing datasets.
    • Establish rules and documentation for data classification to support scalable data governance.
  3. Inventory Mapping & Standardization
    • Map local inventory SKUs and naming conventions to global inventory codes.
    • Partner with procurement, finance, operations and PIMS teams to ensure consistency and accuracy in product categorization.
  4. Support Strategic Pricing Initiatives
    • Collaborate with pricing and finance teams to align taxonomy with pricing strategies.
    • Enable comparative pricing analysis and margin optimization by ensuring consistent categorization of services and goods.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Implementation
    • Serve as a liaison between IT, medical teams, and business operations to ensure taxonomy is implemented effectively across systems.
    • Provide training and documentation for internal stakeholders to support adoption and compliance.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Background in data analysis, taxonomy, or data governance.
  • Experience in veterinary industry (preferred).
  • Strong Excel and data management skills
  • Excellent communication and project management abilities.
  • Passion for improving animal health and the veterinary care experience through better data and consistent work streams.
