The Onyx CPA Group is a boutique, fully remote CPA firm focused on proactive tax planning and strategic advisory for high-net-worth individuals and business owners.

We are not a compliance-first firm. Our clients rely on us for ongoing guidance, clarity in decision-making, and long-term tax strategy.

We are hiring our first Tax Manager, a key leadership role with direct exposure to firm leadership, client strategy, and team development.

What You’ll Do

Lead Final Review
• Review complex returns (1040, 1120-S, 1065, 1041)
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with firm standards

Own Client Relationships
• Lead client meetings and planning conversations
• Implement client strategies around tax projections, estimated payments, and business decisions

Manage Workflow
• Oversee deadlines, production flow, and client communication
• Ensure projects move efficiently across TaxDome, Asana, and UltraTax

• Returns are reviewed accurately and delivered on time
• Clients feel confident and supported in planning conversations
• Team members grow in skill and accountability
• Workflow runs smoothly with minimal bottlenecks

What We’re Looking For
• 5–7+ years of tax experience across multiple entity types
• Strong tax review experience (required)
• Organized and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
• Comfortable working in a camera-on remote environment, with video participation expected during client meetings, team meetings, training sessions, and other collaborative discussions.
• Collaborative, proactive, and solution-oriented

CPA preferred, but EA or highly experienced candidates will be considered.

Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: $110,000–$125,000
• Fully remote
• Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA)

Work Schedule
• Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM PST
• Additional hours offered during tax season (Feb–April)
