Family Office seeks a senior tax professional with experience in international tax structuring, tax optimization, and UHNW personal taxation across the UK and Spain. The role involves leading end-to-end tax strategy: identifying risks, designing solutions, coordinating local advisors, and delivering implementation-ready recommendations.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Structuring

  • Design and iterate cross-border holding / operating / financing structures.
  • Optimise WHT/VAT/CT exposures, treaty positioning, and financing flows (interest, fees, royalties, service charges and etc.).
  • Advise on substance, beneficial ownership, anti-avoidance risk controls (GAAR/SAAR, ATAD themes, principal purpose tests, etc. at a practical level).

UHNW / UBO advisory

  • Advise UBO on residency planning, cross-border personal taxes, and wealth structuring interfaces with corporate flows.
  • Review and improve UBO loan structures (taxability, documentation, arm’s-length, disclosure risk, exit/repayment planning).

Risk management & controversy readiness

  • Prepare the group for authority/regulator questions: what to disclose, how to respond, and how to keep consistency across filings and financial statements.
  • Coordinate external tax counsel in multiple jurisdictions; ensure outputs are consistent and implementation-ready.

Operational

  • Maintain a living tax risk register + roadmap (quarterly refresh).
  • Provide short weekly async updates + join key calls.

Requirements

    • 15+ years in international tax / private wealth tax (Big4 Partner / Big Law / top-tier boutique/family office equivalent).
    • Demonstrable experience with UK + Spain tax systems (corporate + personal) and how they interact in practice.
    • Strong track record of group financing, cross-border structuring, and tax controversy/queries.
    • Experience advising UHNW individuals / family offices (not just corporates).
    • Comfort with ambiguity, high confidentiality, and pragmatic execution

Nice-to-haves:

    • Dual-qualified (law + tax), CTA/ACA/solicitor background, or equivalent.
    • Prior involvement with regulated environments and frequent third-party inquiries (banks, auditors, authorities).
    • Experience simplifying complex structures without breaking business reality.

Benefits

  • Fully-remote work.
  • Opportunity to work in a professional Family Office.
  • A dynamic and collaborative work environment.
