Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona is a non-profit organization focused on enhancing student life and engagement. The Talent Acquisition Assistant will support the recruitment process, ensuring a positive candidate experience and assisting with onboarding and compliance tasks within the Human Resources department.


Responsibilities

  • Assists in the screening of candidates to ensure posted minimum qualifications are met
  • Assists with the management of the university student eligibility process and required checks are completed
  • Serves as the HR representative on all ASI interview teams to ensure consistency, compliance and serve as a resource for those involved
  • Assist with the maintenance of ATS to provide prompt, personalized service to external users and candidates
  • Assists in ensuring the job offer process and related paperwork is executed and communicated in a clear and timely manner
  • Assists with ensuring organization onboarding process and applicable documentation is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (i.e., I9 verification, background check completion)
  • Assists with onboarding administration for in-coming staff; ensure timely processing of new employee documentation and transition to the employee experience team
  • In collaboration with stakeholders, creates and ensures an inclusive candidate experience
  • Ensure all required employment certifications are verified, documented, and maintained
  • Assist in the development, documentation, and implementation of standard operating procedures for the screening, candidate selection, and onboarding process, including human-centered best practices
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders in providing oversight of historical records, current and future talent acquisition activities
  • Maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the talent acquisition area
  • Assist with general HR inquiries, issues and discrepancies from employees, managers, and administrators, as needed
  • Models the behaviors of ASI core values, constantly challenging one’s mental models as an active learner
  • Attends all ASI required trainings, including but not limited to, annual all staff and department retreats
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • General computing skills to use (or learn to use) Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and other workstation software
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to adhere to work rules, follow directions, use time effectively and work productively without close supervision
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, take initiative, and remain flexible in a changing environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population and campus community
  • 6 units of Management & Human Resource (MHR) or equivalent
  • 6 months of customer service
