DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Software Engineer III to join our Mailgun Inspect team. Inspect helps customers test and improve email quality through preview workflows, accessibility
checks, code analysis, link and image validation, spam testing, and reporting.
In this role, you will focus on building modern frontend experiences using React and TypeScript. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to
deliver scalable, user-friendly features that help customers solve real problems. Experience with Go and/or Node.js is a plus.
Your Impact & Responsibilities
Build and maintain frontend applications using React and TypeScript
Develop reusable and scalable UI components
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-facing features
Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and services
Improve performance, usability, accessibility, and reliability
Participate in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting
Contribute to technical discussions and continuous improvement
REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of software engineering experience
Strong experience with React and TypeScript
Experience building single-page applications and reusable frontend components
Experience consuming RESTful APIs
Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and modern frontend development practices
Experience with frontend testing tools such as Cypress, Jest, or Playwright
Strong collaboration and communication skills
This is a remote opportunity, but candidates must reside near one of our hub locations for occasional collaboration: Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; San Antonio, TX; Denver, CO
Who You Are
You are an experienced frontend engineer who enjoys building polished, intuitive product experiences
You have strong experience with React and TypeScript
You care deeply about usability, performance, accessibility, and maintainable code
You enjoy working collaboratively with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver customer-facing features
You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and turning ideas into practical, production-ready solutions
You have a customer-focused mindset and enjoy solving real user problems
You communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
You have experience working in a SaaS or subscription-based environment
You bring an understanding of frontend performance, scalable UI patterns, and modern development practices
Experience with data visualization libraries, observability, or monitoring tools is a plus
Bonus points if you have experience with Go and/or Node.js

The annual starting salary for this position is between $100,000 - 150,000. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
